How it works
A simple active-recall loop
Prepare
Listen, read and repeat the passage before testing yourself.
Hide the Mushaf
Remove the visual support and begin reciting from memory.
Recite
Continue until you reach a genuine hesitation or weak transition.
Use a hint
Reveal only what you need to restart, then return to recall.
Continue
Finish the passage and revisit weak points with extra repetition.
When should you use Subac?
Use it after a passage has already been studied, heard and repeated. Hiding the Mushaf too early turns the exercise into guessing instead of recall.
It is especially useful for murajaah, checking weak transitions, connecting ayat, and testing whether a familiar page is actually stable from memory.
If you repeatedly need the same hint, return to focused repetition on that exact weak point before testing the whole passage again.
